Hirune

Hirune is a daybed project I made in collaboration with the Manucipality of Odense.
The goal of this project was to explore how to normalize taking a nap in a modern workplace, as this is proven to improve the livelihood of the employees by decreasing stress and thereby increasing the quality of their work. The backrest follows around the shape of Hirune to make en encloused space to distance yourself from your surroundings. The cushion of the acompaning stool can be flipped over to be used as a table.
The frame of the daybed is made of bamboo, inspired by japanese furniture, and this is why I chose to call my project "Hirune" - japanese for "nap".
